Chandlerβs is one of Schaumburgβs best-kept secrets.Tucked away with a beautiful view of the golf course, Chandlerβs offers a cozy, old-school vibe thatβs perfect for a family dinner or a casual night out. The food consistently hits the mark good portions, classic flavors, and great quality. Their daily specials are an absolute steal, making it one of the best value spots in town. Highly recommended.
Overview
Walking into Chandler's Chophouse, Grille & Banquets at 401 N Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60194, United States feels like stepping into a place that knows exactly what it wants to be: a comfortable neighborhood chophouse that takes its food seriously without acting precious about it. Iβve eaten here more times than I can count, both for casual dinners and larger family gatherings, and the experience has stayed consistently solid in ways that matter to regular diners.
The menu leans confidently toward classic American steakhouse fare, but itβs not stuck in the past. Prime rib is clearly a house favorite, slow-roasted and sliced to order, and on my last visit the server explained their temperature-check process, which mirrors best practices recommended by the USDA for food safety. That attention shows on the plate. The beef comes out juicy, well-seasoned, and rested properly, which is something even upscale places sometimes rush. Seafood options like broiled salmon and walleye are handled with restraint, letting freshness and technique do the work instead of piling on sauces.
One thing that stands out across reviews and personal experience is consistency. According to industry data shared by the National Restaurant Association, repeat customers value reliability even more than novelty, and this place seems built around that idea. Whether itβs a Friday night dinner or a weekday lunch, portions, plating, and timing stay predictable in the best way. Iβve brought out-of-town colleagues here for business meals, and the feedback is usually the same: reliable comfort, generous servings, and service that knows when to check in and when to step back.
The grille side of the menu deserves attention too. Burgers come thick and cooked to temperature, with a char that suggests a properly maintained flat-top. During one visit, I chatted briefly with a line cook who mentioned their daily prep routine, including grinding beef in-house and seasoning just before cooking. That method lines up with recommendations from culinary schools like the Culinary Institute of America, which emphasize minimal handling for better texture and flavor.
Banquet services are a big part of what makes this place stand out in Schaumburg. I attended a retirement party here that hosted over 80 guests, and the flow was smooth from start to finish. Staff coordinated plated dinners efficiently, and dietary requests were handled without awkward delays. Large-scale dining is where many restaurants stumble, yet this operation clearly has systems in place. Itβs not flashy, but itβs effective, which earns trust quickly when youβre planning events that matter.
Atmosphere-wise, the dining room strikes a balance between casual and polished. Dark wood, soft lighting, and comfortable booths make it easy to linger. Families, couples, and business groups all seem to fit naturally into the space. Reviews often mention the welcoming vibe, and that matches what Iβve seen firsthand. Servers tend to stick around for years, which research from Cornellβs School of Hotel Administration links directly to higher guest satisfaction and smoother service execution.
There are a few limitations worth noting. If youβre looking for trend-driven cuisine or plant-based experimentation, the menu is more traditional than adventurous. While there are vegetarian-friendly sides and salads, the focus remains firmly on meat and classic preparations. For many diners, thatβs exactly the appeal, but itβs fair to acknowledge the scope.
Overall, the strength of this restaurant lies in execution, experience, and trust built over time. From carefully cooked steaks to organized banquet operations and steady service, it delivers what people actually come back for. Itβs the kind of place locals recommend without hesitation, and the kind of dining room that feels familiar even on your first visit, which explains why so many Schaumburg residents treat it as their go-to spot for everyday meals and milestone celebrations alike.

Beautiful place and some very delicious food. The chicken and potato puree was very well made. Bacon was nice and crispy and vegetables cooked perfectly. Servers were very attentive and friendly. Overall, great experience.
The portions are very generous. The prices are reasonable. We came here for the outside dining, however, that was not available on our second visit in the beginning of October. They have a really nice large patio by the golf course. For dining inside the atmosphere is a sports bar/ cafeteria feel and the lighting is a little too bright inside I would rate that two-star.
I've driven past this restaurant so many times because it's nestled within the confines of a golf course. What a mistake that was ... The food here is just amazing. I had the broasted chicken with mashed potatoes ... And my dinner companion had pork chops with mashed potatoes. The food was excellent! The portions were more than generous. What really surprised me was the price was very very reasonable! Unfortunately I didn't snap pictures of the food... But I did take some pictures of the very generous Martini and old fashioned. If family or friends come in from out of town that is where I'm going to take them. Nice relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff, quick service, excellent value, and food that is top notch.. Definitely give this place a try.
We had our wedding reception here on 6/1/24 and everything went so smooth and looked amazing! The entire booking/planning process was great and Vikkie was the best coordinator!!! She was honest, helpful, and quick to respond - it was obvious that she has a lot of experience. We dropped off all of our decor the week before and Vikkie and her team set everything up!! I do suggest making a detailed list of how/where you want everything. They did a wonderful job decorating all of our tables, but my backdrop wasn't totally right (wasn't raised high enough so guests' heads were blocking our hanging sign). They are reasonably priced and include a lot at no extra cost - centerpieces, table numbers, candles, easels, cake, card box, etc. They were also very accommodating with dietary needs! One small complaint is that they use glass all night long. This inevitably led to a few glasses being dropped on the dance floor. They were quick to clean it up but we had guests cutting their feet a few times. We asked about plastic cups early on, but this wasn't an option. Overall, it was a great experience and we will be recommending Chandler's to everyone looking at venues!!
Unfortunately our servers had an attitude like they really really really did not want to be there. But it was a beautiful day, golf course setting eating outside which made it beautiful. 72Β° with a light breeze delicious food made it all worthwhile. Have been here several times previously and have not been disappointed. Sort of a favorite meeting place when we find ourselves in Chicago.
Our daughters wedding was at the banquet hall. It was perfect. In so many ways and in every way. The staff was phenomenal, absolutely outstanding. The wedding planner was so easy to work with incredibly complementary and accommodating. The bartenders were great kept me laughing and knew the second I approached what I wanted. Each staff member was smiling and attentive. The facility is gorgeous. The entire event went off without a hitch and we could not be more thankful. Kudos to the team, staff & management.
